BR-Hauptfunkhaus (main broadcasting center)

Brutalism in Munich: The BR headquarters, built in 1976, is a classic. Whether it will be preserved in this form is still open to disussion. Bayerischer Rundfunk is planning to move to Freimann and thus restructure its current headquarters. There are many opinions as to the form in which the nearly 80 meter high building should be preserved. Since it is not a listed building, demolition is also conceivable. What is certain is that there will be room for many new uses. From stores to rooms for creative people and small production studios. Only whether housing can be created here is not certain yet. The tracks, brewery and other businesses in the immediate vicinity of the BR Funkhaus create a high level of noise and emissions.
