ADAC headquarters
The ADAC headquarters is hard to miss: The building in Munich's Westend district shines in 22 different colors. Here, ADAC employees look through more than 1,000 windows. What is only visible from above is the organic shape of the base building, which almost star-shaped encircles a generous partially glazed inner courtyard. Modern photovoltaic systems are located on the roofs. Also not apparent are the structural challenges the building defies: the subway tunnel under the building and the tower's nine-meter projection from the base. The nearly 100 meter high tower was strategically positioned along the subway tracks to minimize shading.
