Wohnring
Alongside the Marx Centre, the Wohnring is Neuperlach's best-known building complex. The ring is up to 18 storeys high. 4,500 people live in around 1,700 flats. The complex also houses neighbourhood facilities, a primary school, a special school, a church, a youth centre and a centre for the elderly.
Theodor-Heuss-Platz, where a weekly market has been held since 2018, is located within the residential ring. The majority of the square is a green open space. In the centre of the green space is the hut project of the ZAK ‘Zusammen Aktiv in Neuperlach’ association, in which many residents are involved on a voluntary basis.
Neuperlach's landmark, the space spindle ‘Space Churn’ by George M. Rickey from 1972, can also be found here temporarily. It originally stood at the Plett Centre, then at Hanns-Seidel-Platz until 2018, when it had to make way for the construction site. The artwork can currently be found behind the pep shopping centre at the eastern end of the Wohnring.
