The Münchner Tor (Munich Gate) marks the entrance to Munich from the north and, together with the Highlight Towers opposite, forms the structural cornerstone of the passage to the city center. Built in 2003, the high-rise not only houses modern offices, but also serves as noise protection for the neighboring Berliner Strasse residential area. A promenade, which partly runs under the office giant, leads from there to the Mittlerer Ring. Due to the building height, which is rather rare in the Munich cityscape, it was possible to build relatively narrowly upwards and thus to preserve about 60 percent of the building site as an existing biotope. It includes a small lake and is largely accessible to the public.
