Construction work on the Olympic Tower at a height of about 100 meters, 1965
Olympic Tower (currently closed)
In contrast to most of the buildings in the Olympic Park, the Olympic Tower was not built with the 1972 Olympic Games in mind; it was completed in 1968. The almost 290-meter-high tower houses a restaurant that rotates once on its own axis every 53 minutes. The ride in a visitor lift to the observation deck at a height of 185 meters takes about 30 seconds. Or you can walk the 1,230 steps, which are only accessible during special events.
Current note:
Due to renovation work, the Olympic Tower is expected to be closed until 2026.
