In 2011, the Small Olympic Hall was opened for 3,600 spectators. It can be used as a separate event venue or in combination with the Olympic Hall, with which it is connected via a tunnel. The Small Olympic Hall is somewhat hidden under a grass roof, steps lead down to the entrance. Access is via a cut in the ground between the hall and the foyer; it is also a connecting path through the park. The large-scale glazing supplies the event space with daylight. The architectural firm Auer Weber integrated the hall into the grounds of the Olympic Park, thus continuing the architects' original idea.
