Brainlab Tower
The striking brick-red tower of the former Riem Airport still stands. This monument, dating from 1939, is the landmark of the Messestadt (Trade Fair and Exhibition City district). Following complete renovation, the tower is now used by the medical technology company Brainlab. Where air traffic controllers and technical staff used to work, there are now ultra-modern demonstration operating theaters, conference rooms, a library and a roof terrace with views of the Alps. So that the entire height of the historic building can be seen to its full potential, the adjoining double glass facades of the company headquarters were minimised.
