ZOB (Central Bus Station)
Not far from the main railway station is Munich's largest bus station, the Central Bus Station (ZOB). The elongated building on the Hackerbrücke is enclosed by a transparent shell of aluminium tubes that provide a view of several wings and levels. They are stacked on top of each other like the decks of a passenger ship. At ground level is the actual bus station with 29 terminals. From there, numerous destinations in Germany and throughout Europe are served daily. Escalators and lifts take you to the level above at the height of the Hackerbrücke. The ZOB passageway with shops is located in this central area. One floor higher is the travel centre. The upper floors above house offices. A discotheque has rented space in the basement, where parties and events take place.
