The landscape park can be explored via footbridges.
Some things still remind us of the area’s previous use.
Gleispark
The Gleispark is a landscape park and an ecological priority area in the Baumkirchen Mitte neighbourhood. With an area of around 124,000 square metres, it takes up about half of the site. Not only has a special place for recreation been created here for the residents of the neighbourhood, but also a habitat for rare animal and plant species. Nature has been able to reclaim a lot of space on the former Deutsche Bahn site. Viewing platforms can be reached via footbridges, inviting visitors to carefully observe the flora and fauna. Strictly protected species such as the sand lizard have re-established themselves in the ballast beds of the disused railway line.
