Freiham Neighbourhood Centre
On the corner of Aubinger Allee and Grete-Weil-Straße, in the immediate vicinity of the future Freiham underground station, a neighbourhood centre is being built with a supermarket, kiosk, bakery, hairdresser and other shops for everyday needs. The city council has also commissioned the administration to realise an inclusive hotel there. The elongated building will also house Munich's largest district library, an education centre, a family centre, a health advice centre and the ‘Grete’ cultural centre. The cultural centre is expected to open in 2025.
Next door, the Munich housing association ‘Münchner Wohnen’ (formerly GWG) has built several residential buildings. They extend as far as Aubinger Allee and further to Ute-Strittmatter-Straße to the north.
