The Freiham estate
The Freiham estate is a listed ensemble and also the namesake for the new district. The medieval estate was first mentioned in 1136 and was once owned by the Counts of Yrsch and the Baron von Maffei family. Today it belongs to the Edith Haberland Wagner Foundation and consists of several buildings. Two of them, the castle and the baroque Holy Cross Church, are additionally listed as individual buildings. Due to its location, the inn with beer garden and the playground, the Freiham estate is a popular destination, especially in summer. The Freiham Süd commercial area keeps a respectful distance from it.
The Edith Haberland Wagner Foundation, which is closely linked to the Augustiner Brewery, has extensively renovated Gut Freiham until 2022. A US company has its offices in the castle - it is only accessible from the outside.
