Koenigshof hotel

The luxury Hotel Königshof stood at the end of Schützenstraße on the west side of Karlsplatz until 2019. After its general renovation in 1970/72, the traditional building was included in the "Monuments in Bavaria" monument topography due to its historical significance. Exactly 40 years later, a planned new building was announced in 2012; its demolition in 2019 paved the way for a strikingly modern, angular hotel building based on plans by Spanish architecture firm Nieto Sobejano. From its rooftop bar, you are able to gaze out over Karlsplatz and into Neuhauser Straße. The 'Koenigshof' in Munich has opened in summer 2024 as a luxury hotel belonging to the Marriott International hotel group.
