In 2013, a new business complex opened on the former site of the Karstadt Oberpollinger department stores' by the cathedral. The name comes from the Munich Pschorr brewery, which was based here in the 1960s with its Pschorrbräu beer halls. The building, which has a floor area of 23,000 square metres, houses various retailers and 25 exclusive rental flats on the fourth and fifth floors. There is also a public underground car park. A special feature that many people are unaware of: Inside the building is an inaccessible, green atrium that extends over several storeys and can be seen from the shopping arcade. The folded, coated glass surfaces of the inner courtyard reflect the plants and look like a giant kaleidoscope.
