„Wohnring“ Neuperlach
Along with the Marx Center, the Wohnring is Neuperlach's best-known building complex. The ring is up to 18 stories high. 4,500 people live in around 1,700 apartments. The complex also houses neighborhood amenities, an elementary school, a special needs school, a church, and a youth and senior center. Within the residential ring is Theodor-Heuss-Platz, where a weekly market has been held since 2018. Most of the square is a green open space. In the middle of the green space is the hut project of the association ZAK Zusammen Aktiv in Neuperlach e. V., where many residents volunteer. The landmark of Neuperlach, the "Space Churn" by George M. Rickey from 1972, can also be found here temporarily. It originally stood at the Plett Center, then until 2018 at Hanns-Seidel-Platz, where it had to make way for the construction site.
