The Ecological Model Settlement in Prinz-Eugen-Park
All eight projects of the Ecological Model Settlement were made in timber construction ...
...even if this is not always apparent at first glance.
There are apartments for rent and ownership ...
... and there are different types of buildings ...
... for all household sizes and income groups.

Ecological Model Settlement
In the southern part of the Prinz-Eugen-Park an Ecological Model Settlement was built in the form of Germany's largest interconnected complex of wooden buildings. Their sustainable construction and energy provision make an important contribution to sustainable development. In order to carry out this visionary project, Munich launched a funding programme that has created 600 apartments in this location. The aim of the programme is to build more wooden residential buildings in Munich, that will set new standards in terms of CO2 savings and thus climate protection. Compared to construction from conventional materials, harmful emissions are reduced by 30 to 60 percent. Wood also allows for resource-saving architecture and the discovery of alternative construction options.
