Sendlinger Tor Underground Station
At Sendlinger Tor, get a closer view of the way in which a train station of the future is built. This busy subway station has been under renovation since 2017, with all three levels undergoing extensive renovation and redesign. Higher platforms and additional lifts will ensure improved accessibility in the future. Steps have been taken to make good use of light and colour, balance visitor flow, and increase the number of exits to the surface in order to improve user experience. Fire protection infrastructure has also been updated. Along with the expansion of the space available for passengers, additional retail areas will also be created. Importantly, this work will improve the efficiency of the underground network. This station has been in operation since 1971 and is one of the oldest in Munich's route network. Since 1971, the number of passengers has tripled. The renovation work should be completed by 2023.
