Giesinger Grünspitz
The 2,000 square metre green space on the corner of Tegernseer Landstraße and Martin-Luther-Straße is called ‘Grünspitz’ because of its tapered shape. The area under shady chestnut trees was used by a car dealer until 2014. After it was acquired by the City of Munich, new uses were possible. In 2025, the Grünspitz was extended and redesigned. There are now 1,300 square metres available for relaxing, playing, picnicking or gardening. A new hedge and shrubs were planted to screen the traffic. Four newly planted red-flowering horse chestnut trees will provide more shade in future. A species-rich meadow provides food and habitat for insects and butterflies and strengthens biodiversity in the neighbourhood. A newly created large staircase with seating steps, a new drinking fountain and a kiosk round off the offer. Barrier-free access to the Grünspitz on Tegernseer Landstrasse was also created as part of the remodelling.
