There are also many social facilities for the neighbourhood.
Behind the archways are courtyards and gardens hidden from the street.
The sgraffito and fresco paintings on the façades were realised according to designs by Lois Gruber.
"Stockwerksiedlung"
The multi-storey housing estate between Perlacherstrasse, Untersbergerstrasse, Deisenhofenerstrasse, Rotwandstrasse, Walchenseeplatz and Rottacher Strasse was built between 1927 and 1930. It is part of the large housing estate programme of the Gemeinnützige Wohnungsführsorge AG. The planning was based on the development around Walchenseeplatz and its design.
The four-storey blocks on Perlacher Strasse and Deisenhofener Strasse shield the estate. The four-storey blocks in the centre are aligned from north to south. At the head ends, there are some intermediate buildings for shops and offices. This arrangement results in traffic-calmed, spacious courtyards where people can play, meet and socialise. A total of almost 900 flats were built, ranging in size from 45 to 100 square metres. This means that people with different incomes can find a home here.
