Excursus: shadow bank & neighbourhood garden
Directly in front of the Montessori school “Campus di Monaco” is a wooden shade bench – for a break and protection from the sun. At the same time, solar energy is used: The solar cells in the roof produce electricity. This means you can also charge your cell phone or headphones. Right next to it is an open garden. Many hard-working gardeners from the Montessori school and the neighbourhood build and tend the beds, take care of the harvest and organize parties in the garden. The shadow bench and neighborhood garden are the result of an initiative of the EU project “Creating NEBourhoods Together” (NEB), which has now come to an end.
