Art in Neuperlach
There are many outdoor sculptures and art installations in Neuperlach. Some have fallen victim to various restructurings, such as the sundial at the Plett-Zentrum.
Four cone-like bodies made of concrete have been standing on the corner of Ständlerstrasse and Heinrich-Wieland-Strasse since 1999: Jai-Young Park from South Korea created the work entitled 'Only Man Is The Location Of Pictures '.
'Blue Spiral ' by Louis Constation has been located on the Heinrich-Wieland-Strasse since 2001, the ' Object in the Lake' by the artist Albert Hiens is sited in Perlacher Park.
'Space Churn' by George M. Rickey has been a Neuperlach landmark since 1972. Originally it was located at Plett-Zentrum, then until 2018 at Hanns-Seidel-Platz, now it can be found at Theodor-Heuss-Platz. Due to the construction site on Hanns-Seidel-Platz, the artwork 'Legung' by the artist Adrian Maryniak, also called 'Spatzennest' (Sparrow's Nest), was moved.
The most unusual art project is surely 'Munich Depression ', an art installation by American artist Michael Heizer from 1968; a pit 30 metres in diameter and five metres deep. After four weeks, Munich Depression was built over.
