Hermann-von-Siemens Sports Park
In the centre of Obersendling lies an extensive park that was used exclusively by Siemens employees for over 50 years and is a protected landscape. After the company no longer needed the almost 14-hectare company sports facility following its relocation, it fell into a deep slumber. In 2017, the City of Munich acquired the park and made parts of it accessible again in 2019 in the interests of local residents. In 2024, the Hermann-von-Siemens-Sportpark was modernised and set up for a variety of games and sports such as beach volleyball, balance elements, teqball, basketball and much more.
The former company sports centre is now to be transformed into a sports area for schools and clubs and a public park. In December 2024, the city council made a decision to draw up a development plan for a new triple sports hall, a school swimming pool and outdoor sports areas.
The traditional Siemens Tennis Club (STC) sports club with tennis courts and catering facilities as well as the valuable woodland and green spaces will be retained.
